given it's not a curse made by a specific person that we know of, and that it seems to be bound to the area rather than a specific individual there's two ways to counter this!!
1. Burn sage to cleanse the place out of evil energies!
2. Deny it's existance (most curses draw power from being recognized and feared)
so of course no warning, that would be verifying it XD
*Runs around burning sage and chanting*
