Best of, Friends? [Ismet&Jun-Yi]

Jun-Yi's day couldn't have been going worse. Upon waking up, he realized that he had missed Breakfast, and now, the tray in his room was growing cold. So he ate the cold food; waffles now soggy with syrup, and the cup of hot-chocolate, cold. Shame. Sighing in distaste, the teen slipped out of bed with some help by the Nurses and got into his wheelchair, now used to moving the heavy item around. Deciding to visit the lounge for some reading time, he grabbed his book from the nightstand, a 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy', and left, reaching the Lounge in no time.

Ismet inwardly frowned, trying to get his wheelchair to move. He stared as one of the nurses reached down and fiddled with something that he couldn't reach, and suddenly he could move. He nodded a thanks to the nurse and quickly started on his way, his face blank.

He hated this place. He hated the doctors, he hated his wheelchair, he hated the nurses-well. His eyes traveled down to the stuffed cat he had, and his lips quirked into a smile. Not all of the nurses. Most of them though.

He slowed down as he saw another boy in a wheelchar slip into a room marked 'Patient's Lounge', and he tilted his head to the side. Ismet nodded to himself and tried to quietly follow after the boy, gasping as his chair hit doorframe. Wincing, he straightened out and entered the lounge the proper way, keeping his eyes focused on the toe of his cast.

Hearing a little gasp from the doorway, he turned his wheelchair quickly too see another boy come wheeling in, keeping his eyes at his foot. Tilting his head curiously, Jun-Yi wanted to approach the other, but ... He seemed as if he didn't want to be specifically bothered, and so he just sat around for a while, fiddling with the cover of his paperback book. After a second and rolled by, he decided to come and introduce himself. It would have hurt, would it...? Wheeling closer, he peeked at the boy's foot, his body, then up to the other's face, worry peeking into his eyes as soon as it came. Blinking to clear his mind, he coughed twice, lightly, before shoving Wish into the other's lap.

"... Wanted to say hi." Was his lame reply to his actions as he just hugged the book to his chest, feeling a bit empty without his panda, his Wish in his arms, safe to cuddle. But, he was doing something good, wasn't he? And... Being nice was good. Nodding almost to himself, Jun-Yi waited for the other's response, allthewhile keeping his glance on his own casted leg.

Ismet fidgeted with the sleeves of his clothes, disliking the awkward feeling. He could feel the other boy staring at him and he didn't like, no not one bit. He kept his face blank though. Couldn't let him see anything, otherwise it might be used against him like it used to be. He tensed as the other boy came closer and he looked up, meeting the boy's eyes briefly.

He blinked as a stuffed Panda was dropped into his lap and he grabbed it out of reflex. He looked down at the animal and then at the boy, tilting his head to the side. He watched him fidget with the book he had before taking his stuffed cat and handing it over to him. "...Hi." He said, looking to the side and holding the panda closer to his body for comfort.

Feeling another plush on his lap, he looked down with amused eyes as it rested on a soft, kitten plush. A second followed, then he wordlessly picked it up and cuddled it, pressing his nose against the other doll's, his own motion of special kissing. Patting the soft fur of the plush, he glanced at the quiet boy and tilted his head.

"... Er, so... Ai, how are you?" Jun-Yi asked as he placed the book down onto the table, wheeling himself a bit closer to see the other a bit more fuller and more clearer. Hesitating for a moment, he took the plush from his lap into his hands, then pressed it to Wish's nose, too. "... They get lonely too, you know."

He watched the other boy carefully, wanting to makes sure that he treated Kadri right. He blinked in surprise when the boy rubbed his nose against Kadri's, before petting the cat and acting as if that was normal. Well, he couldn't really comment on other person's state of normalitly, so he pushed that out of his head.

"I'm fine...How are you?" He returned, watching the boy move a little. He ran his fingers over the fur of the bear in his lap, tensing a little when the boy moved unexpectedly. He watched him push the plushies nose's together and he cracked a rare smile at the boys words. "I see." That was both a nice thought and a sad one; nice that the stuffed animals hade feeling, but sad as in they probably felt lonely a lot of the time...Like he did...

"Good, because I found a friend." It was lowly mentioned and also, a bit quiet -- what if the other said no? He would have been awfully sad and almost, have a bad, bad day. He just wished he wouldn't go through that -- with the breakfast and all, it was bad to continue on receiving stress! With added-on hurry, he added, "-- A-Ai, unless you don't want to become friends! I-I just thought..." Well, good going there. What was he going to say, 'Oh hey, you looked lonely, ay'? Absolutely not. He hadn't forgot about of his manners, even though he had gone through some manner-killing-things.

"Wish likes you." He blurted out, nervous and fiddling with his sleeves, his hand now clammy and sweaty.

His eyes widened at the other boy's words and he stared, blinking rapidly. Friends...? He..had never actually had a friend before. "I would like to be friends." He said, licking his lips nervously. "I'm Ismet." He held out his hand the way he saw adults do it, figuring it was the rightway to go about sealing a friendship.

Ismet tilted his head slightly in confusion before realizing that Wish was the panda bear. "Ah...Kadri likes you." He said, gesturing at his cat. He pulled Wish closer to his chest, smiling slightly. "I like Wish." He muttered.

Now, Jun-Yi was pretty good at hiding feelings, but now he couldn't help the feeling of being eccentric. Eyes mirroring the other's to widen slightly, he hid his blushing face into Kadri's soft back, muttering a soft, "I-I'm Jun-Yi..." Seeing the hand, he looked at it, then back at Ismet's face, then back to it, offering a small yet delicate hand and shook it, carefully. "N-Nice to meet you." The Chinese-English teen murmured, squeezing it once -- that was a habit, too.

"Really?" Blinking down at the kitten plush, he made a happy noise on the back of his throat and got an idea from it. Bringing Kadri to his lap and nudging Wish with it, he purred a little, mewling along the lines. "Mew, mew~" He might have looked stupid, but it was fun, too! Glancing back up, he smiled, a genuine and truthful one he shined to those he trusted and now, loved. "I like K-K..." He stopped, paused, then thought for a while before saying once more, "Kadri!"

Ismet squeezed Jun-Yi's hand back, smiling. He blinked in shock, watching as Jun played Kadri. He smiled back at him, deciding that he really did like this boy. He was glad that he had come over and asked to be friends. Acting on an impulse, he moved forward and kissed Jun's cheek, pulling back rapidly with a blush on his cheek. "I'm sorry!" He said, looking at him with wde eyes. What if Jun didn't want to be his friend after that?

Blink, blink.

Jun-Yi stared at the other before dropping the cat plush into his lap, taking in a deep breath, and rather, tackle-glomping the other with an astonishing speed. He kept Ismet in a hug before pulling away for a while to kiss his cheek back, rubbing his nose with the other's.

"We're going to get along, ai!" He said with a proud undertone as he snuggled, ignoring the Nurses' looks of worry as they cuddled together. Leaning back to look at the brunette, it took a while for him to realize how quickly and rash he had acted, and let go, backing a little with a sheepish face. "S-Sorry. Er... We don't have to be friends, --" He stifled a sigh, but continued. "-- But, WishwouldliketohaveK-Kadriforafriend!"

All of his breath left his lungs as he was pulled into a hug andhis mind blanked just a little. He relaxed into the hug and blinked when Jun pulled away, kissing his cheek and rubbing their noses together.

He stared at the other boy after he pulled away, stared as he said his words, and finally he began to laugh, the full-bellied kind that hurt after a while but was too good to stop. As he calmed down, he smiled at Jun and ignored the nurse's startled looks. "I really do hope we get along Jun. And Kadri wants to be Wish's friend. And," He leaned in with a secret smile on his face, "Ismet wants to be Jun-Yi's friend."

Eyes widening for a fraction of a second, Jun-Yi clasped both hands in his lap, and let out a low, content squeak. "R-Really? I-Ismet wants to be Jun-Yi's friend?" After a moment of silence, he quickly wrapped another arm around Ismet, pulling them together. He had forgotten correct Grammar and had repeated his name when it should have been, 'my friend', but he didn't really recognize it, either.

"Nice to meet you, friend!" Jun-Yi said jubilantly, as if no one was watching them, and pressed his lips to the other's cheek. "Jun-Yi accepts your friendship request, and Wish does too! Right, Wish?" Moving Wish's head gently in a nod, he beamed up at his new friend. "See?"

Ismet nodded, smiling at Jun-Yi. He leaned into Jun-Yi's hug, sending a glare at the nurses who were watching them. He was sure they had other patients to attend to, so why were they just standing there watching?

He snuggled closer, liking the affection. He couldn't remember the last time someone treated him like this and he was soaking it up like a sponge. "It's nice to meet you too. I'm glad you accept." He looked down at Kadri and picked her up, hesitating before pushing her nose against both Jun-Yi's and Wish's cheeks. "She accepts too."

"It's official and mutual, then!" Jun-Yi faked a serious facial expression and held up one finger, nodding. "Friendship needs to be mutual, ai! If one person wants to be a friend..." He opened one eye as he had originally closed both, and gave a little motion, as if he was winking. "... The other wants to be a friend, too! That way, it's officially done that they're friends." He said in a matter-of-fact voice, all the while snuggling with the other.

"We'll be... Best friends, won't we?" He commented with a sparkle in his eyes.

Ismet nodded, yawning a little. He hadn'tgotten much sleep last night, firstly because this was a foreign place to him and there was no one familiar around and secondly because sleeping with a cast was difficult to do. "Right."

He blinked and frowned tilting his head to the side. "...Yes. Best friends." He replied, pulling Kadri closer to his chest.

Jun-Yi's eyes watered a little as the other appeared a little bit confused, yet his hands came to wipe it up, quickly and as soon as the tears dropped once onto his lap. Humming a little, trying to change his tone and clogged-up-voice, the Chinese-English teen responded with a small grumble and a, "Hmph." A moment later, he remembered how a second ago, Ismet had yawned, even though it was pretty small. Jun-Yi was sure he had good eyesight, but now, it had gotten blurry...

"You can sleep on me, you know?" He said as he reached over gently to connect their wheelchairs together, and then moving the arm of the chair upwards so he could have easier access. Patting his shoulder, the teen looked at the other, tilting his neck to show his pale skin underneath. "You can lean, here..." He blinked once, then wrapped Wish's paws around Kadri's back. "... And Wish will protect K-Ka-... Kadri, hn."

Ismet's eyes widened as Jun-Yi teared up and he reached forward, brushing away the tears. "Don't cry!" He said, panicking alittle. He wasn't used to people crying around him, he didn't know what to do!

"Ah?" He blushed a little, smiling uncertainly. "Thank you then." He hesitated before leaning against Jun-Yi, his smile growing. He yawned again and his eyes drifted shut as he snuggled closer to the other boy's warmth. "I'm glad Kadri has a protecter like Wish." And that ha had a friend like Jun, but he wasn't sure how the other boy would take that.

Flinching a little backwards as soon as the other touched his eyelids, Jun-Yi gave a cooperative smile and nudged the other with his elbow, lightly. "My eyes hurt, that's all." As response to how the other was snuggling him, he snuggled back, patting Ismet's head carefully while yawning, himself. Shooting a fail glare at the Nurses who had crowded to make sure the two wouldn't fall, he waved with his other hand, jutting out his lips to add to the effect. Seeing them leave with a couple of whispers, he nodded and replied with a soft sound from the bottom of his throat.

"Mmhnn, and Wish is glad he has a cute kitty like Kadri." There, he had said the plush's name correctly! Peeking underneath his lashes, he looked at Ismet and poked his side, gently to catch his attention. "Is there something wrong, ai?" He inquired, his sensitive side picking up the other's feelings in an odd light -- he looked a bit hesitant.

"Oh...I'm sorry for touching them." He said, biting his lip. He heard the nurses talking, too quietly for him to understand but it was still vaguely irritating. He smiled, feeling Jun-Yi pat his head.

"Good." He said, smiling when Jun-Yi got the pronounciation of Kadri's name right. He hadn't wanted to point it out, not wanting to upset his friend, but at the same time he was glad to have his cat's name said correctly. "Hm?...I'm glad to have you as a friend Jun-Yi." He whispered, smiling to himself.

"I'm glad you're my friend, too." Jun-Yi whispered back as he hid his smile with a covered hand, leaning over to peck Ismet's cheek, once more. Usually, he wouldn't have done such things, but now... He had a new friend, and that was amazing, on its own! "We have to be best friends, forever, okay?" He put on a serious expression and looked at Ismet, turning around to show them his face. "Promise?"

Ismet smiled at the kiss Jun-Yi gave him, finding it odd that he wasn't uncomfortable with the affection Jun-Yi was giving him. Even before he had had a hard time taking affection from his own mother, when she consented to giving it to him. He decided then and there that he would never turn away Jun-Yi's affection the way he mistakenly did with his mother's. He wouldn't make that same mistake again.

He looked into Jun-Yi's serious face and nodded, a solemn expression coming onto his own. "I promise that we'll be best friends for ever." He nodded to himself, determined to make this work. He liked Jun-Yi.

"Good!" Jun-Yi sighed, almost in relief, as he blankly tapped his hands against the other's head in a cute, almost in a doting manner. Finding friends weren't so easy for him, since he was brought up in a society that had quite big of an expecration for a little child. Wanting the best grades, the best behaviour, the best everything. Needless to say, Jun-Yi had gotten bored and began to dislike that severely.

"And, smile~" He added as he pinched at Ismet's cheeks lightly, trying to make the other's lips ride upwards into a smile. Making others smile was hard, indeed. Pouting a little, his lips jutted in a way he always used to do, the Chinese-English boy settled back into his wheelchair and hugged the two plush to his chest, sharing the hug with the brunette. In a way, it was like a group, family hug. He missed those.

He blinked as Jun-Yi tapped his head, tilting his head to the side in confusion. He wasn't...familiar with these gestures of his and wondered just what purpose they held. As far as he could tell, all they did was make Jun-Yi look cute.

He flinched as Jun-Yi pnched his cheeks, holding onto his friend's hands. He smiled, poking Jun-Yi cheek as he pouted. He moved closer to Jun, hugging him and the plushies tightly. This felt...nice. Warm. He couldn't remember the last time he'd felt like this, with anyone. He yawned and cuddled againt Jun-Yi, falling asleep.

"Huu?" Jun-Yi blinked as he glanced at the now sleeping figure leaning against him, and stifled a small bout of chuckle, coughing slightly under his breath as he patted Kadri's head carefully, treating it almost as if it was alive. Wish was alive, too! H-He was just... Sleeping. That's it.

Huffing a little as he was used as a chair, the boy quietly bathed in the silence, the nails of the nurses tapping against the keyboard, the beeps of the machines, the motors of the cars outside, the -- the people, their cries, rapid talking, everything. Inhaling, he focused on patting Ismet's hair instead, covering the plushes with the sleeves of his clothes. Slowly, quietly, he began to hum a the same lullaby he remembered, closing his own chocolate hues.

"And when the Sun sets, everyone becomes quiet; and when everyone becomes quiet, they go to sleep. When they sleep, the Moon arises; and when the Moon arises, the Stars accompany." Looking at the other, he smiled fondly, the smile hidden by the heightened collar. "And when the Stars are done whispering their secrets, the Sun comes to awaken everyone, once, and for all."
