PostSubject: ... Aren't Nurses Girls? [Heracles&Jun-Yi]   ... Aren't Nurses Girls? [Heracles&Jun-Yi] EmptySat Aug 21, 2010 4:52 am

Jun-Yi hadn't exactly gotten used to the Hospital's insides and outsides yet, and as much as he tried to stare at the wall which had the map of the Hospital for emergencies pasted on it and try to memorize all the exits and doors and such, he just couldn't. Heaving a frustrated sigh, the teen made his way to another door, pushing it open. There, he was met with the fresh, cool air and the sun; those two elements made him feel much better; the lush green colour of the trees, the bushes; the beautiful mixed colours of the flowers all added to his enjoyment. Pushing the door open fully, he blinked at the bright sunshine and made a small, content noise at the bottom of his throat, then continued on his way on his wheelchair.

He did see others, but made no move to say a greeting or to even acknowledge them. Squinting to see better, Jun-Yi tried to move around the ones walking along, although he did bump into someone. Narrowing his eyes and lowering his lashes, he peeked up at them through his long lashes. He really couldn't see well in the bright light, but...

Heracles yawned, looking around the courtyard. He hadn't gotten any sleep last night and thus, staying awake where he was was proving to be a difficult battle. But he had been warned off sleeping through his breaks as he often overslept.

Deciding that it would be best to go back inside before the warm sun and wonderful scents sent him to sleep, he got to his feet and began walking. He inwardly sighed as he found himself behind a couple.

He moved around them and bumbed into someone, moving back a step. Blinking, he looked down to see a kid looking up at him. He was wearing the hospital clothes, so Heracles judged that he was staying at the hospital.

Managing a smile, tired as it was, he nodded at the child. "Hello."

It was common knowledge and manners to reply with a pleasant greeting when someone said it to him, right? Jun-Yi didn't really follow American or English manners or such, preferring Chinese over them all. But since he had been around London and his Father had the most influence on him, it was no surprise he followed British traditions and manners more than Chinese. With a slight puff in his throat, he answered back with a quiet, almost inaudible, "Hello."

The other man looked tired, but Jun-Yi was too. And it wasn't like he could get out of the chair and offer it to the brunette, so he clutched the arms of the wheelchair and stayed silent, almost feeling a bout of embarrassment or even, if it could be called that, nervousness. Fiddling with the sleeves of his hospital uniform, he recognized how the sleeves weren't long and burgundy-coloured, and it didn't belong to his duangua.

Heracles nodded, noticing how umcomfortable the kid was. He avoided looking at his legs, knowing that most kids felt uncomfortable to have that point out. "I'm Heracles Karpusi. What's your name?" After all, he was most likely going to be working with the kid soon.

"Nice to meet you, Sir." Jun-Yi replied politely before folding his hands into his lap in a manner of nervousness. The other man was quite nice, too, and he appreciated how he never glanced to his legs, not even once; although, the British-Chinese teen knew that, as a staff hired by a Hospital, that they had good eyes and probably, was itching to ask him of what happened and why he was stuck in a wheelchair. His arms hurt, too, from pushing at the wheels on his own.

"I-I uhm... I'm Jun-Yi Huan, but you can call me..." He fidgeted, turning his eyes to the bright-coloured flowers. "I mean, if you even care --" Jun-Yi changed his view to the dark and moist earth, then back at the brown-haired man. "-- Jun."

Heracles bit his lip, trying to surpress a gushing over how cute Jun was. Most kids felt uncomfortable with that too. "Alright then, I'll call you Jun." He said, making sure to pronounce the name right.

He noticed the way Jun was rubbing at his arms, frowning. "Is something wrong?" He wondered, hoping not. Well obviously, his legs were...out of commission, but Heracles hoped nothing else was wrong with him.

"Aiyah, but er... Joon." The teen held up one finger to emphasize his point as he slid the finger across smoothly, showing the two 'o's to slide against each other. "If you replace the 'u' with double 'o's, then you get my name's pronunciation." Wait, did Sir Karpusi just call him by his nickname? Th-then, that meant he liked him! Jun was his nickname, and instead of his full name, just that. It was short, clean, and... Maybe, cute, too.

"Oya?" God, there he went at Chinese again. Stopping before he could slip farther into his native language, Jun-Yi shook his head, albeit a little bit ... Sharply, as if he wanted to make the movement faster than he could handle. If he moved his head, then he would probably move his body, too, and his legs really shouldn't be bothered.

"Haaa, I er... It's not a big deal! Pushing this around with my weight added kind of is heavy, is all..." Meekly, the brunette held out a black and white Panda plush and showed it to Heracles. "A-And, Wish is pretty heavy too!" Using the back of his hand to hide his face from Wish and showing his face to Heracles, he whispered. "But don't tell him that!"

Heracles nodded, rubbing the back of his neck. He felt slightly embarrased for messing it up, but Jun didn't look like he minded. "Alright then. Jun. Did I get it right that time?" He asked, tilting his head to the side

He smiled at Jun's slip, having felt the same way himself when he came to America from Greece. It had been a pain not to slip into his familar Greek and even now he still had some problems with it. He raised an eyebrow at how Jun nodded before realizing that, with his legs, he wouldn't want to make any jarring movement.

"Oh?" Heracles said, smiling at how cute the kid was acting. "Well, alright. I promise I won't tell him. Would you like me to push you?" He asked, deciding the cut his break short. It would be worth it to help Jun out.

"Yep! You got it right that time!" Jun-Yi eccentrically complimented before giving two claps, using Wish's paws to do so. "Look, he's congratulating you too!" Alright, so that was a little too cheesy. But it didn't hurt, and hey, Heracles didn't look so bothered with the plush, either.

"Oya, you promised!" Huffing, the teen glanced at the other with scrutinizing look before nodding, motioning Heracles to see him in the eyes. "So, you have to... Pinky promise, then stamp, then copy. That way, we can't go across our promises, ever!" After finishing the breath-taking sentence, he paused before offering his left hand's pinky.

Heracles chuckled at Jun's actions. "Well than thank you for the congradulation." He shook the bear's hand. "What's his name?" He asked.

Heracles knelt down next to Jun-Yi, looking into the kid's eyes and being dead serious. He didn't understand all of Jun's request, but he understood that it was important. He hooked his pinky around Jun's, shaking it.

"Thank you." It was a bit weird hearing the two words slip out of his lips, but he tried anyway. Although he was a bit, a tad bit worried that he would be pushed by someone he'd just met, he knew he wasn't in harm. The other man looked nice, and besides... Now, he didn't know what his Profession was! Looks were deceiving; what if, the other was a trained Ninja? Mayhaps, a sneaky assassin, and he was off to get him!?

"H-Haa, c-can I ask what you do for a job here, though? You're not random, right? No sneaking in at nighttime?" There he went with his paranoia, again. Little droplets could be seen forming under his long hair, and he blinked once, twice. If he was from outside, then... The Hospital had a pretty bad security!

He blinked in surprise as Jun turned from smiling to shaking, and frowned in concern. He looked him over, trying to figure out what was wrong.

His eyes widened at the question before he smiled, ruffling Jun-Yi's hair. So the kid was worried about the Hospital's security? Heracles was glad that he wasn't in pain. "I'm one of the nurses here."

"A... Nurse?" Jun-Yi blinked, before tilting his head to the right. "B-But..." He bit his lips. He didn't want to sound mean or rude, but... This kind of went against what he knew and thought, before. Well, you learn new things everyday, right?

... Right?

"S-Sorry, but I thought... A-Aren't Nurses only for girls?" There, he had said it. He knew it sounded terribly rude, but he had to get it off his chest! Besides, he just hoped Heracles would understand why he asked such things, or the other would have to face quite a lot of things. Fiddling with the edge of his shirt, he kept his gaze down, not looking until the other replied; with an answer, or with even a glare or any physical response.

He got to his feet and rubbed at his back, smilng at Jun-Yi. He raised an eyebrow when the kid fell silent, moving behind him to get to the handles of the wheelchair.

He laughed when Jun finished his question, shaking his head. "Well, true, in movies nurses are girls Jun. But that's because long ago, only girls could be nurses. But that changed and now both boys and girls can be. Is there anywhere it particular you want to go?"

"Oh, I see. Only in movies?" Jun-Yi contemplated before speaking again. "So, now they don't wear the uniforms and the white hat?" Inwardly, he was terribly confused. But, he knew when to not be confused and say it out loud. Breathing in the scent of the blossoms in the air and the sunny day, he looked at Heracles by turning a little in his seat.

"No, actually, I don't." To be honest, he sounded a little embarrassed there, and looked straight ahead. "Haven't been here for a long time, actually..." Hugging Wish, Jun-Yi just sat at the wheelchair, his arm kind of empty. He had done this all the time, so it felt weird to have someone else push it for him.

He tilted his head to the side, humming in thought. "Well, I suppose if they want to they could. Most don't though so things are more equal in the workplace." He started to push Jun along, smiling slightly.

He nodded, looking down at him. "Well then, welcome to Axis Memorial Hospital. I'm sorry that you had to be admitted, but hopefully you'll find your time here enjoyable."

"Thank you, Nurse Heracles." Jun-Yi replied with quite the mischievous sparkle in his eyes, a rare thing to coax out of him those days. He patted the hand on the handle of the wheelchair, then turned to look at the beautiful garden's scenery; the deep-green colour of the trees, the bright and welcoming colour of the flowers. All of those drew him in. Seeing something flutter around, he squinted his eyes to see it.

"... What's that?" He pointed to the flittering, white insect.

Heracles rolled his eyes, smiling at the look in Jun's eyes. It was cute and he got the feeling Jun didn't often have that look. He looked down, a little surprised, at the pat on his hand before shaking his head.

He looked to see what Jun was talking about and saw a butterfly, smiling. "It's a butterfly Jun." He pushed Jun closer and held out his hand for the butterfly to land on. "See?" He bent over to let Jun have a look at it.

Delicate, was the butterfly.

And as much as he wanted to touch the feathery-light wings of the fluttering butterfly, he knew if he did touch it, it would be hurt and he wouldn't be able to fly anymore. And he didn't want that, ever. So, instead of touching the wings like he had wanted, the Chinese-English folded his hands onto his lap with a calm look at the insect that had landed onto Heracles' hands.

"It's pretty and... so, so innocent." He said what had entered his mind, the first two things. They were indeed pretty, but so white, so free, so carefree. He wanted to be like that, one day. Out of this wheelchair, but walking on his own two feet again, without any pain.

Heracles smiled at the look on Jun's face, slightly curious as to why he didn't reach out to touch the butterfly the way any other child would have. Of course, he was happy that Jun didn't feel the need to touch it since that could potentially damage the butterfly, but at the same time...

His eyes widened at the words that came out of Jun's mouth, staring at him before smiling. He nodded, looking back to the butterfly. "Yes, it is." He leaned a little against Jun's chair, enjoying the comfortable silence that had be fallen them.

Closing his heavy eyelids, Jun-Yi looked at the Garden before his eyes and sighed, letting another deep breath of air refilling his lungs. Breathing that out, he blinked; the butterfly had been on Heracles' right hand, he was sure, but... Now it was on his left -- no, scratch that, there was two butterflies now! It wad beautiful, really, just a dash and swirl of colour as they fluttered around, as a couple. Seeing them go, Jun-Yi felt a little feel of tightening in his chest, and cleared his throat a couple of times, trying to whip up yet another conversation.

"Do you have someone you love?" He asked, knowing full well that he could have come across as mean or over-stepping-the-boundaries. "I-I mean, you don't have to answer that question --" He was trying to fix his sentence, but he had gone a little too far, and as much as he tried or did, Jun-Yi couldn't really fix the whole thing over again.

" -- You don't have to." The brunette teen ended lamely.

Heracles smiled as a second butterfly appeared, enticing the first one into flight. He watched them go and held back a sigh, envying them just a little bit for the freedom they had. Humans didn't have that luxury, to go where they wanted at a moment's notice.

He stiffened and looked at Jun in surprise, watching him stumble just a little over his sentence. The poor kid probably felt so nervous. He put his hand on Jun's head and smiled, looking back towards the hospital quickly as he thought. "Yes, I do have some one I love." A cussy Italian filled his mind and his smile deepened.

"Oh, you do? That's, er... Nice." What would he say, now? He just looked at the left and the right, losing sight of the two butterflies as they flew past. Feeling Heracles' hand on his head, Jun-Yi let out a small squeak; both of the surprise and the tenseness he was showing through his words and actions.

"... Are you going to get married soon, then?" He asked, peeking his head downward as if he was afraid of what the other would say. "I mean... When I was young, I wanted to be married with Wish, but..." The teen shut his lips for a little while before continuing, keeping close touch on his words. "I couldn't, because Wish isn't alive."

"Yes, very nice." He chuckled, pulling his hand away when he heard Jun's squeak. He found the kid adorable, and it was hard not pull him into a hug.

He stared at Jun, feeling a blush creep up the back of his neck. Wish surprised him, because he couldn't remember the last time he had actually blushed. "Well, that's up to Lovino really...I hope so." He decided, smiling slightly.

His smile took on a sad edge when he processed Jun's next words and he pulled the boy into a hug, rubbing his back.

Ah, so Lovino was the person's name. He would have to check who that was, later. Well, if Heracles knew her -- wait, was that a he, instead? Chewing on his bottom lip, he just nodded once; a second later, he found himself in a hug. Smiling lightly, he patted the other's back, hesitantly. "It's okay. I mean, there's more fishies in the sea, right?" Whispering, his tone low, he added into the Grecian's ear, "But don't tell Wish that, okay? He deserves a good Wife, too."

The wind blew, soothing his mind and nerves. "Are you sleeping, are you sleeping, Brother John? Brother John? Morning bells are ringing, morning bells are ringing, ding dang dong. Ding, dang, dong." He sang in his almost soprano, high voice of his, leaning to peck the other on the forehead.
